recommendsAttended a recent 8 hour firearms (using optical sites) training recently. Health issues over the past year or so... resulted in very limited strength in my right hand.
The training (and the trainer) were both top-notch. The student (me) was on a different (spelled l o w e r) notch .
The trainer/owner was aware of my limitations….but rather than teaching “down” to me….he was able to elevate me far above my own expectations (it wasn’t too long ago that loading a magazine or racking my personal weapon was more than just a little challenging.
Long story short, by the end of the day skills had been learned, confidence had been restored, and my target had more holes than I thought possible.
Truth…..I’m not the “spry” rookie with a 6 gun in my hand as I was when I was at the academy (52 years ago). Hell, I not as ”spry” as I was when I began to type this……OK, I’m in my 70’s so after I finish this review the word “spry” will never be used again.
BUT, while it wasn’t designed or intended to do so, this class showed me (and my classmates) that age, injury, nor infirmity are no match for competent, professional training.
I would(and am) strongly recommending HOLD THE LINE for first timers, seasoned (or in my case, overly seasoned) LEO’s, or anyone who needs to learn new skills, break bad habits, or simply enjoys the safe use of firearms.
Can you tell that “back in my day” I was the guy who did all of the writing?
